OPI DS Mystery from Kesha

Kesha fulfilled my longtime lemming for this beauty. It’s a deep purple with sparkly golden microglitter (or diamond dust, lol!) Very vampy and sexy… speaking of vampy, my mom says that term comes from “ladies” that used to follow Rudolph Valentino around… Vamps. I have to wonder if that’s where Vampy came from or is it really the whole vampire thing? ANyhoo… probaby not! LOL! Wikipedia lists its first use in the 40s. OPI DS Glow

Jessika knows of my love for coppery bronzey shades and so this beautiful baby became mine! OPI DS Glow is like the shinest new penny and the glitz factor is off the scale. Somehow wow and understated at the same time. This is my fave so far of all the DS OPIs I’ve tried.

OPI Catch Me In Your Net

At first, I thought this made me look a bit hooker-ish! But it grew on me, and now it looks like something a mermaid would wear, doesn’t it? It’s aqua but with a greenish cast sometimes. VERY shimmery, maybe glittery, but smooth to the touch. I thought it needed 3 coats, but this is 2. DH took me for a mani/pedi yesterday (sweetie, I had cramps!) and the pedi was fantastic, but they didn’t do the best job on my mani, as you can see, and I didn’t clean it up. Cuticles still chunked. Polish not perfect, but better than my own lately, lol! But the color is lovely. This is from the OPI Butterfly Collection that came out this spring. All in all, I love it for the unique aqua blue-green color and fantastic shimmer/glitteryness of it, and it looks great on my toes!

What can ya say but wow. This polish is definitely glam… makes me think of that Italian Vouge fashion shoot, Oil & Water. There are others similar, most notibly one from the ChG Vintage Vixen Collection, which I’ll do a comparison on. No others quite like this one, far as the ones I have. It’s very shimmery but smooth, and I’m about to find out about removal. I expect it to be pretty easy. Application was flawlessly easy, and this is 3 coats.

My favorite real gold looking polish. It almost matches my wedding rings exactly. A wee bit lighter. Not too yellow, not too glittery, just GLITZ. Super shimmery, it went on easily and took 3 coats to get it opaque enough for me. But three coats well worth it, I think!

Oh, the yummy nudiness of this polish. This is 3 coats and I do still have VNL, which doesn’t bother me, but probably would have taken only 1 more coat to make opaque. This is also the closest I’ve found to my skin color. If you have any mannequin hands color idea, please let me know!

Finally got the Hong Kong collection after everyone else, but I have it. DH went for me today and got the whole collex for me! I don’t have a fave yet, but this one is gorg! Two coats with an OPI! It goes on really smooth and rivals an RBL in texture. The colors are all really interesting and different than you’d expect for a spring collex, but I love it since spring isn’t exactly my color season. Look for more of there pretties soon!

OPI Can You Tapas This?

This is way prettier in person, much shinier. It is a kind of kidney bean color, so the photo is pretty accurate, though irl, it looks a bit darker. It’s not maroon and it’s not burgundy, it’s in between somewhere! Went on perfectly. I love OPIs. This is another beautiful creme from the Espana Collection.

Pardon the tipwear. It’s a two day old mani, so it wore pretty well with no topcoat. My favorite red cream, so far. It’s a deeper red-orange hue, and suits warm skintones well, I think. It went on perfect, of course. I rarely have a problem with an OPI cream. I’ve never had a problem with their creams, come to think of it!

Thank you fulfilling my longtime lemming, Jessika! You can see my cat in the middle finger nail! Shows ya how shiny it is! Dark stormy blueish-grey cream… reminds me of what comes from smokestacks. I love it. I can’t tell if there’s any shimmer here. At first, I was sure there was a secret shimmer, then I was certain there wasn’t. SO, anyone’s guess, there. I used my magnifier for the first time here, so the app is kinda wonky. This is three coats.

This one probably doesn’t suit me at all, but I love it, anyway. It’s a slightly pinkish cream nude. I only used two coats, here. Normally with an OPI it takes 3 to cover my visible nail line. It goes on great, as usual, even better as it’s a bit thicker than a usual OPI.

OPI DC Cherry Blossom

OPI DC Cherry Blossom

I don’t think I’d have picked up this color, but DH got me the recent release of most popular OPI polishes of the past 20 years, and this is one of them. I was looking for something cheery today and there it was, smiling at me!

DC Cherry Blossom is brighter than this indoor pic shows, and there’s no coral in sight. 100% unadulterated PINK. Almost Barbie Pink. And I love it! I didn’t think I would, but wow! It really cheered me up!! It went on a little weird for an OPI, kind of thicker and streaky, but it evened out in 3 coats, which is usually what an OPI takes for me.

I think this color is going to make a great base for a Konad this weekend! What color shall I put over it? First thing I thought was black polka dots, but I’d have to do that by hand and I don’t trust myself!

OPI Pamplona Purple

OPI Pamplona Purple

Pamplona Purple is from the OPI Espana Collection. I don’t know why it took me so long to wear this! It’s a lovely magenta purple, goes on fabulously and is opaque with two coats. It *might* even be possible to use it with Konad. These purpley-pinks magentas are some of my fave colors, and this is my fave magenta! Also premiering, shorter nails! What do you think?

Both of these polishes have already been reviewed and I love them both! So I decided to put them together, and my love is even stronger! I like how it looks in different lighting, and I like it alot with brown instead of black. Not so harsh for daytime or nighttime.

Yep, dark picture. Light went down as I did my mani. But it so happens that in this pic you can see the multicolored glitter so well, especially if you enlarge it. The base is a steely grey with coppery and blue microglitter shimmers. I grabbed it originally looking for Suzi Skis, but darned if I can find that one.

Here’s a daylight pic, too… I think I should have done 4 coats here.

One of my favorites. It’s a true royal blue, no hints of purple. Very shiny, smooth cream. Applies perfectly, dries quick quick. This is 3 coats, which is normal for OPIs to really come out and show their true intensity.

I love the full nail designs and this one is no exception. I probably could have chosen better colors, but I wanted this. It’s like frost over fall. But anyway, that’s my KOTD!

OPI You Ottaware Purple

This is an inside pic of 4 coats plus sv of OPI You Ottware Purple, and it is so pretty I had to post it tonight instead of just the daytime pic. It goes on thin and streaky, so you have to build the coats, and the color transforms into something else entirely. It is a very shimmery, deep purple micro glitter, but not so much that it’s overwhelming at all, or could be considered anything other than a shimmer. I have no idea how it wears, but we’ll find out!

OPI You Ottaware Purple

I promised a day pic of this polish that reminds me SO much of 1984! But like, it doesn’t gag me! Easily wearable, deep purple shimmer. It does wear kind of quickly, and this was a base, polish 4 coats, tc.  Nonetheless lovely.

Another not-quite white… I like it. How to describe it? It’s not quite white. Maybe a bit sandy pink? 4 fast coats here, so application isn’t great and my hands are frozen dried up pruney red snausages right now! Applies a bit streaky, but gets opaque with 4 coats, or possibly 3 good ones. And geez, do I need a mani! This is a shot of the never seen but often used right hand.

This has GOT to be the most beautiful polish I own. Another lovely gift from Jessica of Polished Lyrics. I really loved it more as I wore it, and I adroed it instantly. I’ll try to describe it! Look at pictures! The color is amazing accurate on my monitor, though yours may vary, lol. The cheeriest, sexiest red… it reminded me of this: satin sheets, thick ones. Slick and cool, yet somehow warms ya up! It’s very shimmery, but not frosty at all, and extremely smooth. It applied SO well; it’s the nicest polish I have!
