China Glaze Jitterbug

This little lovely is from the ChG Vintage Vixen set. I thought it was a close dupe to OPI Lucerne-tainly but it’s really not. Lighter in color, and more graphite looking, very shimmery as to almost be a glitter. Dh loves these natural earthy looking polishes. And so do I! If you click the pic, it gets HUGE and you can see the flecks of shimmer better. I didn’t use a topcoat, hence the wear, sorry. Sunlight here doesn’t always allow an immediate photo…due to the lack of it. But lucky me, today we have some sun, so a-swatching I shall go!

OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous

What can ya say but wow. This polish is definitely glam… makes me think of that Italian Vouge fashion shoot, Oil & Water. There are others similar, most notibly one from the ChG Vintage Vixen Collection, which I’ll do a comparison on. No others quite like this one, far as the ones I have. It’s very shimmery but smooth, and I’m about to find out about removal. I expect it to be pretty easy. Application was flawlessly easy, and this is 3 coats.

Orly Iron Butterfly

LOVE this polish. It looks like graphite or carbon. It’s very smooth to the touch and this is a matte polish. I didn’t use a topcoat, so it wore fairly quickly, but to make it last longer just use a matte topcoat… or a shiny one would look cool. This has the look of wrought iron, roughened pipes, and I don’t know why I love it. Different, I suppose. It goes on smoothly but does dry quickly, so you won’t want to dally with your strokes on this one.

Not the best picture, I’m still perfecting the lightbox! This polish applies amazingly well and I love the brush. I used 3 coats but 2 is probably good. Dh says this is exactly the color of wet cement, so I guess it’s very accurate! To me, the color is a little lighter, more dove grey. Overall, a big winner!! I do love these polishes, they’re just always sold out around here! I felt really lucky to find this one!

This picture pulls MUCH more blue than the polish actually is. The photo below shows the shade more accurately, but also shows the weird nail ridges I have from pushing my cuticles too hard or possibly buffing. The color, I love. It’s a medium gray, better than overcast sky, more like factory fumes. Very clearly gray and not blue. The formula is superb, of course, and it goes on perfectly. Next sale, I’m all in!
I’ve never seen this before and don’t know what it is, but it ISN’T the polish! If you can tell me, please do! I’m about to post it on mua, too. Someone will know!

Here’s what the polish really looks more like:

So here is the more accurate color taken under incandescent light. You can clearly see the horizontal ridges caused by something I’ve done to my nails. I’ve never seen this before and don’t know what it is, but it ISN’T the polish! If you can tell me, please do! I’m about to post it on mua, too. Someone will know! (I hope!) I’ve been leaving my cuticles alone, and they aren’t really growing back to the bed yet, so pardon any unsightly cuticles.

Thanks for looking! I’m very far behind in swatching due to the weather, but found a great make your own lightbox tutorial! http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent

Thank you fulfilling my longtime lemming, Jessika! You can see my cat in the middle finger nail! Shows ya how shiny it is! Dark stormy blueish-grey cream… reminds me of what comes from smokestacks. I love it. I can’t tell if there’s any shimmer here. At first, I was sure there was a secret shimmer, then I was certain there wasn’t. SO, anyone’s guess, there. I used my magnifier for the first time here, so the app is kinda wonky. This is three coats.

Yep, dark picture. Light went down as I did my mani. But it so happens that in this pic you can see the multicolored glitter so well, especially if you enlarge it. The base is a steely grey with coppery and blue microglitter shimmers. I grabbed it originally looking for Suzi Skis, but darned if I can find that one.

Here’s a daylight pic, too… I think I should have done 4 coats here.

China Glaze Beatnik

Beatnik is an older China Glaze polish, but it sure is a nice one. It’s very frosty but goes on smooth and not streaky. The shade is a silvery grey, but more warm-toned to my eye. This was a great find for me as I’ve been looking for a grey to suit me!

Let’s Do It in 3D is a silvery grey holo glitter polish that is really much prettier in person. I just couldn’t quite capture the essence of this polish. It’s random holo glitter, and it’s beautiful. Personally, I wear more cremes, but these are still beyond gorgeous! When you want a little bling, this is the BOMB!

This is probably my favorite polish now. It’s a charcoal brown holo sparkle! You can really see the holo sparkles in the sunlight. It goes on great…better than any other polish I have, and it is so wearable. Below is a shot of the holo sunlit, so you can see the sparkle and color better.

This is an okay polish. I can think of gunmetals I like better, but this one is pretty nice. Goes on nicely and has the wider, flatter brush. It is a very frosty bluish grey. I suppose it does look just like gunmetal!

This is a really nice shade, like charcoal. It’s shimmery and a little thick to apply, but worth it, overall. You can always thin it!
